Hyundai has launched its “Hyundai Assurance Program,” the nation’s first auto return policy.
I really like this.
In these times of bailouts and stimulus packages and tight budgets, Hyundai is embracing the challenges with an idea that really hits home while competitors are wimpering along the sidelines. As the Big 3 make real asses of themselves, and while Toyota reports losses for the first time in a long time, Hyundai is serving as a role model for us all: play with the hand you’re dealt, and zag when everyone else is zigging.
Read all about the program here.
Of course, other car companies will be jumping on board soon, if for no other reason than to dilute Hyundai’s differentiation. But there’s something to be said for being first. I’ll be interested to see just how many returns there are in 2010.
