My Favorite Posts of 2008

On January 3, 2009, in Best of . . ., by Brett Duncan

I am most definitely stealing this idea from John Moore at Brand Autopsy. It’s too good and simple not to.

Looking back on 2008, here are the posts and conversations I found most intriguing. Enjoy:

  1. “Don’t Drink Piss”: This wisdom has become all the more relevant since January 2008.
  2. What Starbucks Should Be Doing Today: the Coffee Kings have had quite a ride in 2008. Here’s just one idea.
  3. Marketing Marketing: Probably the post I’m proud to have written . . . ever.
  4. Charging for Time is a Bad Idea: I’m a big proponent of freelancers charging for results, not time. Here’s why.
  5. Making Connections vs. Making Impressions: Which one are you making?
  6. We Need More Organizers: In retrospect, quite timely given our new  president is a former community organizer.
  7. Enjoying the Process: Every day, I realize how true this is.
  8. After the Launch: The problem with product launches is we rarely look to the wrong things to fix about them. I’m hoping this will help a little.
  9. Charisma Always Wins: the Obama campaign taught us all a lot. I learned just how important charisma is.
